The Wheel

The wheel that slowly turns,
Creaks with sharp disdain,
Seeks the minds it spurns,
The spokes won't break again.

A thought once buried within,
Unfurls the wings and flies.
You scream, you toil to wake,
The fever dream never dies.

Carve a smile today,
Your world it keeps burning,
The wheel it keeps turning,
Just not in your way.
